This is an introductory course to Studio Arts. The content covers a variety of drawing media, painting and color theory, three-dimensional design, sculpture, calligraphy and techniques in perspective. Students learn concepts about the artistic process, Elements & Principles of Design, composition, media use, art history and visual art careers. The focus of this introductory course is meant to foster student-led and student-directed choices through the artistic process; media and art content is at the discretion of individual student choice. This format and theme is encouraged and continues to develop through to all senior Studio Art Classes.
*All Projects are required to be worked on during class time for course credit. All terms must be completed for full course credit.
