Drafting 12

Drafting 12

Prerequisites:  Drafting 11 is recommended

This course builds on concepts and techniques learned in Drafting 11.  The course materials are structured to allow for increasingly in-depth exploration of certain topics and drafting techniques, depending on the students’ interests.  The majority of the work is in the form of projects, such as designing your 3000 square foot house.  The architectural portion will have an emphasis on ‘Green’ building techniques and the latest developments in building technology.

Computer Aided Drafting and Design (CADD) programs are used for the majority of the work, although manual sketching and drafting techniques are also explored.  Students will develop and maintain a design portfolio of their work for use in applying for scholarships, post-secondary institutions and employment.

This course is recommended for all students interested in designing their own living spaces or products, and particularly for those interested in careers in trades, manufacturing, architecture, engineering, and other design professions (i.e. graphic design, interior design, landscape design).
