Explorations in Social Studies 11 – Course Description
Students enrolling in this course will explore many topics that fall under the Social Studies umbrella. This course will have students branching out from mainly a historical perspective and broadening their knowledge of Demographics, Environmental Studies, Social Justice, Philosophy, First Nations Studies, Urbanization, and Local History. This course is designed for students who want to experience many themes, and it encourages them to seek for connections amongst them all. It’s goal is to have students understand world perspectives while comparing and contrasting countries all over the world. By course completion, students will be able to gather and interp data, assess the significance of people and places, and infer and explain different perspectives and phenomena. Choosing Explorations in Social Studies 11 will meet your graduation requirements and prepare you for grade 12 level social studies courses.
