Music Comp/Prod 12 is an advanced survey course designed for students who intend to pursue post-secondary education in a music related field, such as performer, composer, or audio engineer. Students will be exposed to all sorts of music genres and are encouraged to pursue the music which interests them. Students will learn:

• Music composition – students will continue to explore composing for a wide variety of genres and ensembles, including film score composing, song-writing, orchestral/band composing
• Arranging/orchestration for a variety of genres (pop, rock, jazz, R&B, classical, etc.) – students will build on their arranging skills by writing their own arrangements of their own favourite pieces
• Recording techniques and audio editing
• Music notation and editing software
• Students will choose an area of interest to pursue at an advanced level for the last and will complete a major product of their own design.
