Music Comp/Prod 11 is a course designed for students who want to explore composing, songwriting, and recording/producing music. All students who are thinking about pursuing music in any capacity in post-secondary education should take this course! Students will learn:

• Music composition – students will explore composing for a wide variety of genres and ensembles, including film score composing, songwriting, and composing for small ensembles
• Arranging/orchestration for a variety of genres (pop, rock, jazz, R&B, classical, etc.) – students will learn how to make melodies fit into all types of genres through clever compositional tricks
• Recording techniques and audio editing
• Music notation and editing software
