Goal: To increase foundational Math skill in order to be successful in course offerings at the school.

Information: Enrolment in this course will be by referral from middle school staff and/or parents.  As a parent, please contact Oak Bay High if you are interested in knowing more about Numeracy 9.  Typically, this course leads into Workplace Math 10 as their grade 10 Math course but it can also be a bridging course into Math 9 which can lead into Foundations and Pre-Calculus Math 10.

Topics: Integers, Fractions, Polynomials, Algebra, Graphing, Exponents measurement with Triangles and Quadrilaterals.  The seven mathematical processes (communication, connections, mental mathematics and estimation, problem solving, technology and visualization) are interwoven throughout the mathematical topics.
