This course enrolls students in grades o9 – 12 and may be retaken at each grade level. The class meets once a week at noon and also requires time outside class meetings. Students will work together in cross-grade teams to complete projects ranging from running the day-to-day tasks of the school athletics program to organizing school athletic events. Students also earn certification in St. John’s First Aid and NCCP Coaching Theory
- Athletic Leadership 11 students and those who have leadership experience in earlier grades will be expected to take on more leadership responsibilities than those joining the program for the first time.
- Students have the option of obtaining certification in St. John’s Emergency First Aid and the National Coaching Certification Program’s module on Coaching Theory.
- Athletic Leadership 12 students will earn certification in First Aid
- In addition, Grade 12 students will continue their certification in First Aid and Coaching Theory from the National Coaching Certification Program.
