Note: These courses are designed for students for whom English is a second language. Placement will be in consultation with the ESL and International Student Program Coordinators.
The course combination on the student timetable will be:
- LANGUAGE ARTS & DEVELOPMENT 10 (ELL COMBO) (4 credits)
- SPOKEN LANGUAGE 10 (2 credits)
- LITERARY STUDIES 10 (2 credits)
Credits: 8 (Satisfies the Language Arts 10 graduation requirement)
Writing Focus:
- All the same competencies as for a regular English class, but with a focus on practical writing for the workplace
Reading Focus:
- Accessible pieces of different genres with a Canadian focus
- Discussion and presentations hone English pronunciation and deepen comprehension
