*Create!  Design!  Leave your mark!  Enjoy working in a collaborative environment to create something you and your school will be proud of … something that will last a lifetime.  This course is open to students in grades 11 and 12. In order to meet yearbook deadlines, students will be required to work outside the timetable to fulfill the 8 credits for the course.

Writing Focus:

• Production of the school’s yearbook (includes layout design, graphics, copyrighting, and photography)
• Journalism projects will be explored: editorials, photo essays, critiques, and articles
• Exploring journalistic styles and various careers in journalism

Career Focus:

• stringent standards for quality of production; adherence to deadlines
• working with teams and editors
• computer skill development (Photoshop, iPhoto, and Yearbook Avenue)
