Japanese 12 is the culmination of all previous learning, focusing on helping students naturally use the language in authentic and meaningful ways. This advanced course introduces more complex grammar structures, idioms, and kanji, while deepening students’ proficiency in both written and spoken Japanese.
Students will engage in extended writing and reading tasks designed to enhance their ability to read for meaning and comprehension beyond key points and literal translations. Through stories and a variety of activities, students will refine their language skills while continuing to explore Japanese culture. This class is also tailored to fit each student, with a variety of tools and resources available depending on their needs.
Cultural activities, which vary each year, often include preparing Japanese food, practicing origami, exploring calligraphy, and enjoying anime. Japanese 12 provides students with the tools to confidently communicate and connect with the language and culture, making it an excellent choice for those pursuing further studies or personal enrichment.
