Satisfies university entrance grade 11 language requirements

Prerequisite: Japanese 10 or Introduction to Japanese 11

In Japanese 11 we continue to expand student vocabulary and understanding through stories and other communication focused activities. In Japanese 11 we start to explore the plain speech style of Japanese. We also build on comprehended material from previous years to expand on students’ writing and speaking ability.  Lastly, in Japanese 11 we start to regularly use common kanji necessary for understanding authentic Japanese texts. Stories and other activities are used to introduce and discuss Japan and Japanese culture.  Activities vary each year, but generally include Japanese food, origami, calligraphy, and anime.
