Japanese 11

Prerequisite: Japanese 10 or Japanese 11 Introductory
Note: This class satisfies the Grade 11 university entrance language requirements.
Japanese 11 builds on the foundation established in previous courses, continuing to expand students’ vocabulary and comprehension through engaging stories and a variety of activities. This course introduces the plain speech style of Japanese, a critical step for deeper understanding and practical use of the language.
Students will further develop their writing and speaking abilities by building on material from earlier levels. Additionally, this course incorporates regular use of common kanji, preparing students to interpret authentic Japanese texts with greater confidence. Cultural exploration remains a key component, with activities such as preparing Japanese food, practicing origami, exploring calligraphy, and enjoying anime.
This course is ideal for students eager to deepen their Japanese language skills and gain insights into Japanese culture while meeting university language requirements.
