Japanese 10

Prerequisite: Japanese 9 or Introduction to Japanese 11

This course uses entertaining stories to build on language learnt in Japanese 9.  Students will learn to read and write katakana(alphabet used to represent foreign words), and be introduced to more kanji(Chinese characters).  While comprehension will still be a focus, Japanese 10 will include more of a writing and speaking component than Japanese 9. Stories and other activities are used to introduce and discuss Japan and Japanese culture. Activities vary each year, but generally include Japanese food, origami, calligraphy, and anime.
