New BC Curriculum!

In English 9 students will become stronger readers, writers, and speakers.  They will learn –

• to use form, function and genre of text to inform their reading
• to identify and use literary elements and devices
• to use rhetorical devices for effect in their writing and speaking
• to use diction strategically
• to strengthen their own working vocabulary
• to improve their writing through a deeper practice with syntax and conventions
• to think more carefully, more critically, and more thoroughly
• to see how written and spoken art is responsive and fun.
