Career Life Education 11 (CLE 11)

4 credits – inside the timetable – mandatory for graduation

Career Life Education will enable students to investigate career-life options and to develop the skills they need to become self-directed individuals who set goals, make thoughtful decisions, and take responsibility for pursuing their goals throughout life. Students will have opportunities to explore their post-secondary education and career options, to expand their job seeking skills, to develop their financial literacy skills, and to gain a greater awareness of local social issues and connect with community organizations to help make a positive difference in the lives of others. In addition, as students take this course in their grade 11 year, it will provide them with the invaluable opportunity to begin to work on their Capstone Project under the direct guidance and support of the Career Life Education teacher and assist them in preparing for their Capstone Project presentation required in grade 12.

CAREER LIFE EDUCATION 11 ON-LINE at OAK BAY HIGH (CLE 11)

4 credits – outside the timetable – mandatory for graduation

The online, self-directed Career Life Education 11 course is intended for students who are motivated, organized, and able to complete assignments independently. This option is for students who have a valid reason for not taking the course in a regular classroom setting.  As learning takes place online, students must be able to read and follow written instructions carefully and manage their time effectively in order to meet course expectations.
To enroll in this course, students must complete an application form, have it signed by a parent or guardian, and receive teacher approval before being placed in the course by a school administrator or counsellor.
