Prerequisite:  Grade 8 or Middle school strings or equivalent.

Participation in performances and rehearsals is required; performances may occur in the evenings and sometimes take place away from the school. Classes meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 3:30-4:45 pm

• For players of violin, viola, cello or double bass, this course continues to develop individual technique, orchestral tone and ensemble playing skills
• Performance repertoire is used to study all aspects of the curriculum, including music theory and history
• Includes frequent large ensemble performances with the 100 piece District 61 “Festival Orchestra” as well as the Oak Bay Strings and smaller chamber ensembles
