Prerequisite: Japanese 9
Japanese 10 builds on the foundational skills developed in Japanese 9, using entertaining stories and engaging activities to deepen your understanding of the language and culture. In this course, you’ll learn to read and write katakana (the script used for foreign words) and expand your knowledge of kanji (Chinese characters). While comprehension remains a focus, Japanese 10 places greater emphasis on developing your speaking and writing skills.
Through stories, discussions, and cultural activities, you’ll explore Japan’s language and traditions in greater depth. Activities vary, but typically include cooking Japanese food, practicing origami, exploring calligraphy, and enjoying anime. This course is perfect for students eager to take their Japanese language skills to the next level while immersing themselves further in the rich culture of Japan.
